Cover is in respect of your legal liability for injury, illness or disease
to your employees arising out of and in the course of their employment with
you. With few exceptions, under the Employers Liability (Compulsory) Insurance
Act 1969, each employer is legally required to take out Employers Liability
insurance. The regulations under the Act require that each employer insure
for a minimum limit of indemnity of £2 million.
Most policies cover for a limit of indemnity of £10 million. Other limits
can be considered upon request. Your insurance broker will be prepared to
discuss, with you, the limit of indemnity appropriate to your needs.
A copy of the insurance certificate must be displayed at each place of business.
