Claims
In the event of a claim the insurer should be notified as soon as possible and certainly within 30 days. If the loss is large the insurer will either appoint an independent loss adjuster or a claims inspector to investigate and negotiate the loss. Many insurers now have appointed contractors to carry out repairs or replace damaged or stolen goods and if they are used then the insurer will be invoiced directly.
